Madewell Spring Try-On

Oh, Madewell. It sure has been awhile. Let's face it, I haven't had many places to go and I've been living in yoga pants. Anyone else? Oh, you too. Good. But as the world has started to feel more normal, I have  found myself gravitating to shopping again. Guess old habits are always there. There are some really great Spring pieces and even better news-there's a little sale going on. Madewelll is doing and extra 30% off sale!

HEMP-COTTON V-NECK SWEATSHIRT // $65 // XS

Okay, so you probably don't need another sweatshirt...but this is one of those elevated sweatshirts. You know the kind you want people to see you in. The quality is the kind you would call fancy-it's thicker and has detailing on the sleeves. And can we talk about this color? It's so much better in person than online. It's just this perfect sage color. Wear it with shorts or white jeans. I went with my bigger size, but think going up one size for a little more of that cozy look is recommended.

PUFF-SLEEVE PEPLUM WRAP TOP IN SPRING FLING // $88 // XXS

There's just something about a good wrap top that gets me. And you can't say no to a cute floral that can work for several seasons! They also put in a snap at the V, so you can make it work appropriate. I found this to run large. While I could have went with and XS, it had a little more room in the waist. This is just one of those tops that can go from office to weekend in a flash. They also made this print in another shirt and skirt.

EMBROIDERED EYELET PUFF-SLEEVE PEPLUM WRAP TOP // $88 (SALE $34.99) // XXS

Well I guess I do have a thing for wrap tops. You should also not wear a black bra, but I'm sure you know that. Honestly, the embroidery is really what makes this top so sweet. While I can see this working for some and not others, it was fun to try. The peplum part is double layered and can give a fuller look. So if you don't want to add bulk to your midsection, I would pass on this. However, I think balancing it out with skinny jeans is the way to go. I do think it makes for a chic all white look with the white jeans

And can I just say it felt so so nice to be back in the fitting room again? Did anyone else miss that over the past year?

Best Dainty Jewelry Shops

While getting dressed up might be slim these days, I have found my compromise to elevating even sweats to be simple gold jewelry. If there's ever a time to really put timeless pieces to the test, it's now. And might I say we all can use a little something to make us feel special each and everyday without the fuss. So whether you're just throwing on a necklace or want to layer up, I would say you can't go wrong with these online shops.

1. Mejuri

They are masters of minimal pieces that don't break the bank. While most pieces are classic, they tend to add modern twists. From rings to necklaces, you are bound to find a special piece.

2. AuRate

While you might find more than dainty jewelry from this New York brand, you can bet to find sustainable pieces that are meant to last. Fun fact, all their gold is 100% recycled! A good starting point is their ring section that has so many options for creating stacks.

3. Selin Kent

If you're looking for a local designer to support, I have recently become a fan of Selin Kent. She just happens to be the designer I went with for my wedding ring and can attest to being very attentive. If you're looking for a customized or modern piece, you won't be disappointed.

Hope you enjoyed these dainty jewelry brands! What is your go-to dainty jewelry store?

Abercrombie Summer Try-On

Abercrombie womens summer collection review

Over the past year or so, I've found myself gravitating more and more to none other than my late high-school mall favorite--Abercrombie. While my taste has toned down just as their use of their logo placed everywhere, it explains our affinity coming together. However, their lighting is still horrific.  From easy summer dresses to minimal basics, their collection this season has been one of my favorites. Not to mention, I found that they frequently have sales that are better online (which we can be thankful during a pandemic). Right before malls closed again in California, I was able to make a quick trip in store to see a few pieces in person and try-on. Honestly, it felt a little strange to be in store, so I only did a couple of pieces. For reference, I'm 5'4 and typically wear an XS or S. Oh, and good news--Abercrombie is currently doing 25% off sitewide + free shipping on $75 or more.

Abercrombie womens tie front mini dress

TIE-FRONT MINI DRESS $59 $44.25 // Size XS

While I didn't think much of this dress on the hanger, I'm glad I decided to try it on. It's very flattering with the neckline and cap sleeve, allowing for a bra with straps. Add in the pockets and I was sold! I actually ended up trying it in the black floral (didn't get pictures), but went with that option. It is a good length before becoming too short. If you do have a larger bust, you might have to go up a size. Otherwise, it's an easy dress to put on and pair with sandals, sneakers, or heels.
Abercrombie womens tie front white dress

TIE-FRONT BUTTON-UP MINI DRESS $59 $26.55 // Size XS

I guess I'm very into the tie-front detail, but this dress has been on my mind since I tried it on. With my wedding early next year, I keep reaching for all the white dresses. For all my small chested friends, this one is a must! There is an elastic back that helps with the fit. I would say those with a larger chest should size up. And again, how can you say no to pockets?! The cut and fit remind me so much of Reformation, but at a very budget-friendly price! There are two other color options that are just as great for summer, too.

Abercrombie womens mesh bodysuit

SEAMLESS MESH BODYSUIT $45 $33.75 // Size XS

I'll be the first to admit that bodysuits can be very unpractical, BUT the feeling I get from actually wearing one outweighs it all. This one in particular has that mesh detail for a nice update on a rather simple bodysuit. The fabric is a seamless stretch material, which makes it ideal to dress up or down.  Because the straps are not adjustable I would go with your normal size. For all you neutral lovers, it also comes in white and beige.

While I didn't want to try everything on, here are more pieces that I've picked up online or have been eyeing for weeks:
